IPC Section 375
Rape has been mentioned in section 375 of IPC, in which all the provisions related to rape have been mentioned. This section comes under the category of serious crime in which a serious act like rape is committed against a woman. In this, provision of strict punishment has been made for the person.
Under Section 375 of the IPC, any man who has sexual intercourse with a woman under certain circumstances is said to have committed rape, wherein the following circumstances are as follows:

- having sexual intercourse with a woman against her will
- having sex with a woman without her consent
- With the woman’s consent when she is put in fear of another person such as the person she loves or a family member who is interested in her
- With the consent of the woman while the man knows that she is not his wife and the woman believes to the contrary that the man she has married is her husband and that she is his wife
- With the consent of such woman when she is of unsound mind or inebriated and incapable of understanding anything at that time
- With the consent of a woman who is under 16 years of age

Apart from this, for all these acts, the person is charged with rape as well.
- If a person inserts his penis into a woman’s vagina to any extent or enters a woman’s mouth or urethra or anus or does it with another person or makes another person do it, then it comes under the category of rape.
- If a person penetrates a woman’s vagina, urethra, or anus using any body part such as a finger, then it comes under the category of rape.
- A man has sexual intercourse with a woman by any part of her body which causes penetration into the vagina, urethra or anus of the woman or makes her do so with any other person, then also it comes under the category of rape.
- When a man puts his mouth on a woman’s vagina, anus, or urethra, then it amounts to rape.
