- If a traffic policeman stops you and takes out the keys of your vehicle, you can protest against him at that very moment because according to the traffic rules, no traffic policeman has the right to take out the keys of anyone’s vehicle.
- When you are stopped, it is necessary for the police constable to show your documents. When a senior officer is with you, if the constable stops you and you are fined due to some deficiency, even then he cannot impose a fine of more than Rs. 100 on you.
- You should carry all the valid proofs of your driving and if asked for and shown, you can avoid any kind of fine. You can carry your driving licence, pollution under control certificate PUCC, insurance papers, registration certificate RC. If you do not have the papers at that time, then the senior officer ASIC or SI can get your challan done through the court, in which you have to show your papers within 15 days as per Motor Vehicle Act Rule 139.
- If any traffic policeman stops you and he is not wearing his uniform or there is no buckle number or name plate on his uniform, then you should not show the documents demanded by him. In such a case, you can ask the traffic policeman to show his identity card and if the traffic police officer refuses to show your identity, then do not show your documents to him.
- Any traffic constable can only fine you Rs. 100 and not more than that. If the fine is more than this, then only a traffic officer ASI, Assistant Sub Inspector or SI Sub Inspector can do this.
- Your vehicle cannot be lifted by the traffic police crane unless you are sitting in the vehicle
- When the traffic police asks for your documents, you have to show the documents related to your vehicle and not hand them over to them.
- If you break the traffic rules and the police arrest you, then you are produced before the magistrate within 24 hours.

- Court Challan: Court Challan is done for strict violation of any rule and the driving license of that driver is confiscated and he is given his license back after paying the fine amount as per the court order.
